Failed resolutions

This time last year, Stu and I decided to try and commit to one date night a month. We thought we were being realistic by saying some could be home dates, a couple of evenings out and maybe one or two overnight dates for the year. Pah! It just didn’t happen. Maybe we did 4.

So I’m pretty proud we’ve already clocked up our first date of 2017. When the in laws came to stay this week, the first thing we did was book a table at our local gastro pub. My girls are great sleepers so ‘watching’ them in the evening is the easiest job.

Much needed date night

Chicken pox has kept us house bound for the first few weeks of this year. Unsurprisingly, I was in dire need of a night out. For some reason, I’d optimistically booked the table for 7:45 which gave me precisely 15 minutes to get dressed once I’d put the girls down. I had 3 minutes spare. This twin mummy knows how to speed dress.

The food was amazing. We laughed until we cried over Toy Story 2 of all things and had a lovely time. This year, we must try harder to stick to our resolution as this Mummy and Daddy don’t want to forget how much we love each other.
